Where do we humans come
from and where are we going?
There are three possible
answers to this question. Those who believe in a god or gods usually claims
that before individuals are created, they do not exist. They then come in to
being through the will of god. They live their lives and then, according to
what they believe or do during their life, they go either of eternal heaven of
eternal hell. There are others, humanists and scientists, who claims that the
individual comes in to being at conception due to natural causes, lives and
then at death, ceases to exist. Buddhism does not accept either of these
explanations.
The first gives rise to
many ethical problems. If a benevolent god really creates each of us, it is
difficult to explain who so many people are born with the most dreadful
deformities, or why so many babies are miscarried just before birth or are
still born. Another problem with the theistic explanation is that it seems very
unjust that a person should suffer eternal pain in hell for what they did in
just 60 or 70 years on earth. Sixty or 70 years of non-beliefs or immoral
living does not seem to deserve eternal torture. Likewise, 60 or 70 years of
virtuous living seems a very small outlay for eternal bliss in heaven.
The second explanation is
better than the first and has more scientific evidence to support it but still
leaves important questions unanswered. How can a phenomenon so amazingly
complex as human consciousness develop form the simple meeting the sperm and
the egg and in just nine months? And now that parapsychology is a recognized
branch of science, phenomena like telepathy are increasingly difficult to fit
in to the materialistic model of the mind.
Buddhism offers the most
satisfactory explanation of where humans come from and where they are going.
When we die, the mind with all the tendencies, preferences, abilities and
characteristics that have been developed and conditioned in this life,
re-establishes itself in a fertilized egg. Thus the individual grows, is reborn
and develops a personality conditioned both by the mental characteristics that have
been carried over from the last life and by the new environment.
The personality will change
and be modified by conscious effort and conditioning factors like education,
parental influence and society. At death, it will once again re-establish
itself in a new fertilized egg. This process of dying and being reborn will
continue until the conditions that cause it, craving and ignorance, cease. When
they do, instead of being reborn, the mind attains a state called Nibbana(
Nirvana ) and this is the ultimate goal of Buddhism and the purpose of life.

ဘုရားက ဖန္ဆင္းသျဖင့္ လူသားျဖစ္လာရသည္ဟု လက္ခံၾကသည္၊ လူသားသည္ ဘုရား၏ အလုိေတာ္အရ ျဖစ္လာသည္ဟု
ယူဆၾကသည္၊ ဘုရားအလိုက် လူျဖစ္လာသည္၊ လူသားတေယာက္အျဖစ္ အသက္ ရွင္ပါသည္၊ ထို႔ေနာက္ လူ႔ဘ၀တြင္
ယုံၾကည္သည့္အတုိင္း သို႔မဟုတ္ သူ႔လုပ္ရပ္ အတုိင္း ေသသြားေသာအခါ ထာ၀ရေကာင္းကင္ဘုံသုိ႔၄င္း၊
ထာ၀ရငရဲသို႔၄င္း ေရာက္ရသည္ ဟု သက္၀င္ ယုံၾကည္ၾက သည္၊ ဤအယူအဆက တစ္မ်ိဳးပါ၊
လူသား၀ါဒကုိ လက္ကိုင္ထားသူမ်ားႏွင့္ သိပၸံပညာရွင္မ်ား၏ အယူအဆလည္း ရွိေသးသည္၊ သူတို႔အယူအဆအရ
လူသားသည္ သဘာ၀အေၾကာင္းတရားေၾကာင့္ ပဋိသေႏၶတည္ေသာအခ်ိန္မွစ၍ လူသားဟု ျဖစ္လာသည္၊ လူတစ္
ေယာက္အျဖစ္ ေမြးဖြား အသက္ရွင္ၿပီး ေနာက္ဆုံးတြင္ ေသဆုံး ေပ်ာက္ပ်က္သြားသည္၊ ဗုဒၶဘာသာသည္
အထက္တြင္ ေဖာ္ျပခဲ့ေသာ အယူအ ဆႏွစ္ရပ္လုံးကို လက္မခံပါ။
ပထမအယူအဆသည္ လူ႔က်င့္၀တ္ဆုိင္ရာ ျပႆနာမ်ားစြာကို ျဖစ္ပြားေစသည္၊ ေကာင္းေသာ ဘုရားသည္
လူသားမ်ား အား ဖန္ဆင္းခဲ့သည္ မွန္ခဲ့ပါလ်င္ လူေတာ္ေတာ္မ်ားမ်ားသည္ ေၾကာက္စရာ ပုံပ်က္
ပန္းပ်က္ေမြးဖြားလာရျခင္းႏွင့္ ပက္သက္၍ ရွင္းျပနုိင္ရန္ ခက္ခဲလွသည္၊ အခ်ိဳ႕ေသာကေလး
မ်ားမွာ မိခင္၀မ္းတြင္းမွာပင္ ပ်က္စီးသြားရျခင္း၊ အဂၤါေျခ လက္မစုံလင္ပဲ ေမြးဖြားလာရျခင္း၊
သို႔မဟုတ္ ေမြးၿပီးခါစမွာပင္ ပ်က္စီးသြားရျခင္း စသည့္ျဖစ္ရပ္မ်ားကို ေျဖရွင္းရန္ ခက္ခဲလွသည္၊
ဖန္ဆင္းခဲ့သည္မွန္လ်င္ မ်က္ႏွာလိုက္ရာ အဂတိလိုက္ရာ ေရာက္ေနေပလိမ့္မည္။
ေနာက္တစ္ခ်က္မွာလူသားအျဖစ္ႀကီးျပင္းလာၿပီးအသက္ရွင္သန္ရသည့္ႏွစ္၆၀သုိ႔မဟုတ္၇၀ကာလအတြင္းလုပ္ေဆာင္ခဲ့မႈ
မ်ားေၾကာင့္ထာ၀ရငရဲတြင္ ခံရသည္ဆုိသည္မွာလဲ မမွ်တသည့္ သေဘာရွိေနသည္၊ ႏွစ္ေပါင္း ၆၀/
၇၀ ကာလမွ် မယုံၾကည္ျခင္း၊ မျမတ္ေသာ အသက္ရွင္ခဲ့မႈအတြက္ ထာ၀ရႏွိပ္စက္ခံရျခင္း ဆုိသည္မွာ
မျဖစ္ထုိက္ေသာ ကိစၥပင္။ ထုိနည္းတူပင္ ႏွစ္ေပါင္း ၆၀ မွ် ေကာင္းစြာအသက္ရွင္ေနျခင္းသည္
ထာ၀ရေကာင္းကင္ဘုံသို႔ ေရာက္ရွိေစေသာ အေၾကာင္း တရားဟု ယူဆရန္မွာလည္း ေၾကာင္းက်ိဳးယုတိၱ
မဆီေလ်ာ္္ေပ။ အထက္ေဖာ္ျပပါ ရွင္းလင္းခ်က္ ႏွစ္မ်ိဳးအနက္ ဒုတိယရွင္းလင္းခ်က္မွာ ပထမအေျဖထက္
ပုိေကာင္းသည္၊ ဒုတိယရွင္းလင္းခ်က္အတြက္ အေထာက္အကူျဖစ္ေစမည့္ အခ်က္အလက္မ်ားစြာ ရွိပါသည္။
သို႔ေသာ္ ဒုတိယအေျဖမွာလည္း ျပႆနာမ်ားစြာကို ေျဖရွင္းေပးနုိင္ေသာ အေနအထား မရွိပါ၊
သိမႈ(အာရုံခံစားနိုင္မႈဟူေသာစိတ္၀ိဥာဥ္)ဆုိသည့္အံ့ၾသေလာက္ေအာင္ရႈတ္ေထြးေသာအျဖစ္အပ်က္တစ္ခုသည္
ဆဲလ္ႏွစ္ခု ေပါင္းစည္း ဆက္သြယ္မိရုံျဖင့္ မည္ကဲ့သို႔ျဖစ္ေပၚလာရပါသနည္း၊ အမ်ိဳးသား ၏သုတ္ပိုးႏွင့္
အမ်ိဳးသမီး၏ မ်ိဳးဥတုိ႔ ေပါင္းစည္းဆက္သြယ္မိရုံျဖင့္ ၉လအခ်ိန္အတြင္း သိမႈသည္ မည္ကဲ့သို႔
ျဖစ္ေပၚလာ ရပါသနည္း၊ မ်က္ေမွာက္ ေခတ္တြင္ ပရစိတ္ပညာ Parapsychology ကို သိပၸံပညာ၏ဆင့္ပြားတခုအျဖစ္

ယင္းသေႏၶပါ စိတ္စြမ္းအားႏွင့္ ေနာက္ထပ္ သက္ရွင္ ေနထုိင္ရသည့္ ပတ္၀န္းက်င္၏ ျပဳျပင္ေပးမႈမ်ား၊
ရုိက္ခတ္မႈမ်ားေၾကာင့္ ျဖစ္ေပၚလာရေသာ စိတ္စြမ္းအားမ်ား ေပါင္းစပ္ဆက္သြယ္ၿပီး သီးျခား
ကိုယ္ရည္ကိုယ္ေသြး၊ ပင္ကုိယ္စရိုက္လကၡဏာ မ်ားလည္း ျဖစ္ေပၚလာရသည္၊
လူသား၏ ကိုယ္ရည္ကိုယ္ေသြးလကၡဏာတို႔သည္ သူ၏ ေျပာင္းလဲလိုေသာ စိတ္ဆႏၵျဖင့္ ႀကိဳးစား
အားထုတ္မႈ၊ သင္ၾကားရေသာ ပညာေရးအေျခအေနႏွင့္ မိဘမ်ား၏ လႊမ္းမိုးမႈ၊ လူ႔အဖြဲ႔အစည္း၏ လႊမ္းမိုးမႈမ်ားေၾကာင့္လည္း
ေျပာင္းလဲ လာနုိင္သည္၊
ထုိေျပာင္းလဲျဖစ္ေပၚလာေသာ စိတ္စြမ္းအင္ကမၼသတၱိမ်ား ရွိလာေသာလူသားသည္ ေသဆုံး သြားျပန္ေသာအခါ သူ႔၏ စိတ္စြမ္းအား တို႔ စြဲလမ္းတိမ္းညြတ္ရာ၊
စိတ္စြမ္းအားမ်ားအာရုံျပဳရာအတုိင္း ေနာက္ထပ္မ်ိဳးေအာင္ေသာဥတြင္ ကမၼသတိၱ ထူးအက်ိဳးျဖစ္ထြန္းကာ
ဘ၀သစ္ကို တဖန္ျဖစ္ေစ ျပန္ပါသည္၊ ဤနည္းျဖင့္ ေမြးဖြားျခင္း၊ ေသဆုံးျခင္းျဖစ္စဥ္သည္
ဆက္တုိက္ျဖစ္ေနေတာ့သည္။
ေမြးဖြားျခင္း ေသျခင္းကိုဆက္တုိက္ျဖစ္ေစေသာ အေၾကာင္းရင္းမွာတက္မက္မႈတဏွာ
greed ဟူေသာ ေလာဘေၾကာင့္ သာ ျဖစ္ ရသည္၊ တက္မက္မႈတဏွာေလာဘဆိုေသာ ဘ၀တဏွာ မရွိေတာ့မွသာလ်င္
ေမြးဖြားျခင္း ေသဆုံးျခင္း ျဖစ္စဥ္ သည္ ျပတ္ေတာက္သြားမည္ ျဖစ္သည္၊
ဘ၀တခုကို အဓိကေမာင္းႏွင္ေနေသာ တက္မက္မႈတဏွာေလာဘ ျပတ္သြားေသာအခါ ၾကြင္းက်န္ေသာ
ဘ၀အသစ္ တဖန္ ျပန္ လည္ေမြးဖြားျခင္းကို ျဖစ္ေစေသာ လူ႔စိတ္စြမ္းအားမ်ားလည္း သစ္ပင္ႀကီး၏
အဓိကေရေသာက္ျမစ္ ေသဆုံး လ်င္ အျမစ္ပြား မ်ားေၾကာင့္ ျပန္လည္မရွင္သန္နုိင္ သကဲ့သို႔
ေသဆုံးၾကရေတာ့သည္၊ ဓာတ္သတၱိအေနျဖင့္ ဆက္လက္ မရွင္သန္နုိင္ ေတာ့ေပ။

ၿငိမ္းေအးေသာ နိဗၺာန္သို႔ ေရာက္ ရွိျခင္းဟု ေခၚဆုိပါသည္၊ ယင္းနိဗၺာန္သည္ ဗုဒၶဘာသာ၀င္တုိ႔အတြက္
အဆုံးစြန္ေသာ ဘ၀သံသရာ၏အဆုံးျဖစ္ေသာ ရည္မွန္းခ်က္ပန္းတုိင္ျဖစ္သည္၊ ဒါေၾကာင့္
rebirth ဟူေသာ ျပန္လည္ေမြးဖြားျခင္းကို ဗုဒၶဘာသာက လက္ခံၿပီး နိဗၺာန္သည္ သာ အဆုံးစြန္
ရည္မွန္းခ်က္ျဖစ္ပါသည္။
