၁၈။ မလ၀ဂၢ Malavaggo 垢品
၂၃၅။ ပ႑ဳပလာေသာ၀ ဒါနိသိ၊ ယမပုရိသာပိ စ ေတ ဥပ႒ိတာ။
ဥေယ်ာဂမုေခ စ တိ႒သိ၊ ပါေထယ်မၸိ စ ေတ န ၀ိဇၨတိ။

၂၃၆။ ေသာ ကေရာဟိ ဒီပမတၱေနာ၊ ခိပၸံ ၀ါယမ ပ႑ိေတာ ဘ၀။
နိဒၶႏၲမေလာ အနဂၤေဏာ၊ ဒိဗၺံ အရိယဘူမႎ ဥေပဟိသိ။

၂၃၇။ ဥပနီတ၀ေယာ စ ဒါနိသိ၊ သမၸယာေတာသိ ယမႆ သႏၲိကံ။
၀ါေသာ ေတ နတၳိ အႏၲရာ၊ ပါေထယ်မၸိ စ ေတ န ၀ိဇၨတိ။

၂၃၈။ ေသာ ကေရာဟိ ဒီပမတၱေနာ၊ ခိပၸံ ၀ါယမ ပ႑ိေတာ ဘ၀။
နိဒၶႏၲမေလာ အနဂၤေဏာ၊ န ပုနံ ဇာတိဇရံ ဥေပဟိသိ။

၂၃၅။ ဥပါသကာ သင္သည္ ယခုအခါေဖ်ာ့ေတာ့ေသာ ဖက္႐ြက္ေရာ္ကဲ့သို႔ျဖစ္ခဲ့ျပီ၊ ေသမင္းတမန္တို႔သည္လည္း သင္၏ အနီး၌ တည္ကုန္ျပီ၊ ဆုတ္ယုတ္ပ်က္စီးျခင္း၏အစ ဘ၀အဆံုး၌လည္း တည္ခဲ့ျပီ၊ သင့္အား ဘ၀တစ္ပါးသို႔သြားရန္ ေကာင္းမႈရိကၡာလည္း မ႐ွိ။

၂၃၆။ ထိုသင္သည္ မိမိ၏ မွီရာကြၽန္းႏွင့္တူေသာ ေကာင္းမႈကိုျပဳေလာ့၊ လ်င္စြာ အားထုတ္၍ ပညာ႐ွိသူျဖစ္ေလေလာ့၊ အညစ္အေၾကးကိုပယ္ထုတ္၍ ကိေလသာမ႐ွိခဲ့မူ အရိယာတို႔ေနရာ သုဒၶါ၀ါသဘံုသို႔ ကပ္ေရာက္ရလတၱံ႔။

၂၃၇။ ဥပါသကာ သင္သည္ယခုအခါအ႐ြယ္လြန္ေခ်ၿပီ၊ ေသမင္း၏ အထံသို႔ သြားခ်ိန္ေရာက္ခဲ့ၿပီ၊ သင့္အား ခရီးအၾကား၌ ရပ္နားေနရန္ အခြင့္မ႐ွိ၊ သင့္အား ဘ၀တစ္ပါးသို႔သြားရန္ ေကာင္းမႈရိကၡာလည္း မ႐ွိ။

၂၃၈။ ဥပါသကာ သင္သည္မိမိ၏ မွီရာကြၽန္းႏွင့္တူေသာ ေကာင္းမႈကိုျပဳေလာ၊့ လ်င္စြာအားထုတ္၍ ပညာ႐ွိသူ ျဖစ္ေလ ေလာ့၊ အညစ္အေၾကးကိုပယ္ထုတ္၍ ကိေလသာမ႐ွိခဲ့မူ တစ္ဖန္ ပဋိသေႏၶေနျခင္း အိုျခင္းသို႔ မေရာက္ရေတာ့ လတၱံ႔။

235. It is like a withered yellow leaf that you look like now; the messengers of Death have come near to you. You stand at the door of departure for far away journey, but you have no provisions to carry along with you for that journey (in next life).

236. Do virtuous deeds to make an island or refuge for yourself, act quickly to become a wise one. With all impurities blown off and free from mental defilements, you will reach the heavenly land of nobles.

237. And you are now well advanced in age. You are going to meet the death soon. There is no resting place on the way, and you have done no good deeds for that journey (in next life).

238. Do virtuous deeds to make an island for yourself, act quickly to become a wise one. With all impurities blown off and free from mental defilements, you will not again enter into the circle of birth and old age anymore.

235 Pandupalasova dani si,
  Yamapurisa pi ca tam upatthita,
  uyyogamukhe ca titthasi,
  patheyyam pi ca te na vijjati.

  niddhantamalo anavgano,
  dibbam ariyabhumim ehisi.

237 Upanitavayo ca dani si,
  sampayato si Yamassa santike,
  vaso pi ca te natthi antara,
  patheyyam pi ca te na vijjati.

  na puna jatijaram upehisi.

၂၃၉။ ပန္းတိမ္ဆရာသည္ ေ႐ႊ၏အညစ္အေၾကးကို တျဖည္းျဖည္းထုတ္သကဲ့သို႔ ပညာ႐ွိသည္ အစဥ္သျဖင့္ မိမိ၏ အညစ္အေၾကးကို အနည္းငယ္အနည္းငယ္ အခြင့္ရတိုင္း ရာဂစေသာ အညစ္အေၾကးကို ထုတ္ပယ္ရာ၏။

239. Let the wise one blow away passions and impurities of the self, little by little by chance, again and again, moment to moment, like a goldsmith removes impurities from gold.

၂၄၀။ အယသာ၀ မလံ သမု႒ိတံ၊ တတု႒ာယ တေမ၀ ခါဒတိ။
ဧ၀ံ အတိေဓာနစာရိနံ၊ သာနိ ကမၼာနိ နယႏၲိ ဒုဂၢတႎ။

၂၄၀။ သံေခ်းသည္ သံမွပင္ျဖစ္လာ၍ သံေခ်းတက္ျပီးလွ်င္ ထိုသံကိုပင္ ျပန္၍စားသကဲ့သို႔၊ ဤအတူ မေကာင္းမႈ၌ လြန္က်ဴး၍က်င့္ေသာသူကို မိမိက်င့္ၾကံမႈတို႔သည္ ဒုဂၢတိဘ၀သို႔ ေဆာင္ကုန္၏။

240. Like rust eats away the iron from which it is sprung, so do one's misdeeds lead that person to the evil path.

  kammaro rajatasseva,

  sakakammani nayanti duggatim.

မလံ ၀ဏၰႆ ေကာသဇၨံ၊ ပမာေဒါ ရကၡေတာ မလံ။

၂၄၁။ စာေပက်မ္းဂန္ အတတ္ပညာတို႔သည္ မ႐ြတ္ဖတ္ မသရဇၥၽာယ္ျခင္းလွ်င္ ပ်က္စီးေၾကာင္း အညစ္အေၾကး႐ွိကုန္၏၊ အိမ္တို႔သည္ ေၾကာင့္ၾကတစိုက္ မျပဳျပင္ျခင္းလွ်င္ ပ်က္စီးေၾကာင္း အညစ္အေၾကး႐ွိကုန္၏၊ ပ်င္းရိျခင္းသည္ အဆင္းလွပျခင္း၏ ပ်က္စီးေၾကာင္း အညစ္အေၾကး မည္၏၊ ေမ့ေလ်ာ့ျခင္းသည္ ေစာင့္ေ႐ွာက္သူ၏ ပ်က္စီးေၾကာင္း အညစ္အေၾကး မည္၏။

241. No recitation leads to the rust of Literary work of scriptures, no maintenance leads to destruction of a house, laziness leads the taint of beauty, forgetfulness leads to impurity of the guardian.

မလာ ေ၀ ပါပကာ ဓမၼာ၊ အသၼႎ ေလာေက ပရမွိ စ။

၂၄၃။ တေတာ မလာ မလတရံ၊ အ၀ိဇၨာ ပရမံ မလံ။
ဧတံ မလံ ပဟႏ႖ာန၊ နိမၼလာ ေဟာထ ဘိကၡေ၀ါ။

၂၄၂။ လင္ကိုလြန္က်ဴး၍က်င့္ျခင္းသည္ မိန္းမ၏ပ်က္စီးေၾကာင္း အညစ္အေၾကး မည္၏၊ ႏွေျမာ၀န္တိုျခင္းသည္ ေပးလွဴသူ၏ ပ်က္စီးေၾကာင္း အညစ္အေၾကး မည္၏၊ ယုတ္ည့ံေသာ အကုသိုလ္တရားတို႔သည္ ဤဘ၀၌လည္းေကာင္း၊ တမလြန္ဘ၀၌လည္းေကာင္း ဧကန္ပ်က္စီးေၾကာင္း အညစ္အေၾကးမည္ကုန္၏

၂၄၃။ ထိုအညစ္အေၾကးတို႔ထက္ အလြန္ကဲဆံုး အညစ္အေၾကးကား အမွန္ကိုမသိမႈ အ၀ိဇၨာပင္တည္း၊ ရဟန္းတို႔ ဤအလြန္ကဲဆံုး အ၀ိဇၨာ အညစ္အေၾကးကို သုတ္သင္၍ အညစ္အေၾကး ကင္းေစကုန္ေလာ့။

242. Misconduct is the impurity of a woman; stinginess is the impurity of a donor. Evil things are indeed impurities in this world and the beyond.
243. But the greatest of all impurities is ignorance (Awaitzar), O Bhikkhus! Throw this away and become pure from sin.

  nimmala hotha bhikkhavo.

ပကၡႏၵိနာ ပဂေဗၻန၊ သံကိလိေ႒န ဇီ၀ိတံ။

၂၄၅။ ဟိရီမတာ စ ဒုဇၨီ၀ံ၊ နိစၥံ သုစိဂေ၀သိနာ။
အလီေနနာပၸဂေဗၻန၊ သုဒၶါဇီေ၀န ပႆတာ။

၂၄၄။ အ႐ွက္မ႐ွိသူသည္ ရဲတင္းေသာက်ီးႏွင့္တူသျဖင့္ လည္းေကာင္း၊ သူတစ္ပါးဂုဏ္ကို ဖ်က္စီးသျဖင့္လည္းေကာင္း၊ သူတစ္ပါးျပဳသည္ကို မိမိျပဳသေယာင္ေဆာင္သျဖင့္ လည္းေကာင္း၊ ၾကမ္းၾကဳတ္သျဖင့္လည္းေကာင္း၊ ညစ္ညဴးေသာ အက်င့္ျဖင့္လည္းေကာင္း၊ အသက္ေမြးမႈ ျပဳေသာေၾကာင့္ အသက္ေမြးလြယ္ကူ၏။

၂၄၅။ အ႐ွက္႐ွိသူသည္္ အျမဲစင္ၾကယ္မႈကို ႐ွာသျဖင့္လည္းေကာင္း၊ မတြန္႔တိုသျဖင့္လည္းေကာင္း၊ မၾကမ္း ၾကဳတ္သျဖင့္လည္းေကာင္း၊ စင္ၾကယ္ေသာ အသက္ေမြးမႈျဖင့္လည္းေကာင္း၊ သင့္မသင့္ကို ေျမာ္ျမင္သျဖင့္ လည္းေကာင္း အသက္ေမြးမႈျပဳေသာေၾကာင့္ အသက္ေမြးမႈ ခဲယဥ္း၏။

244. Life is easy for those who shamelessly are bold as a crow, for the impudent, for the mischief-maker, for the arrogant and insulting, for the impure.

245. Life is hard to live for the modest always seeking purity, free from clinging, and not impudent, is detached (not stingy), pure in the mode of life.

  kakasurena dhamsina;
  pakkhandina pagabbhena,
  samkilitthena jivitam.

  alinen’ appagabbhena,
  suddhajivena passata.

ေလာေက အဒိႏၷမာဒိယတိ၊ ပရဒါရဥၥ ဂစၧတိ။

၂၄၇။ သုရာေမရယပါနဥၥ၊ ေယာ နေရာ အႏုယုဥၨတိ။
ဣေဓ၀ ေမေသာ ေလာကသၼႎ၊ မူလံ ခဏတိ အတၱေနာ။

၂၄၈။ ဧ၀ံ ေဘာ ပုရိသ ဇာနာဟိ၊ ပါပဓမၼာ အသညတာ။
မာ တံ ေလာေဘာ အဓေမၼာ စ၊ စိရံ ဒုကၡာယ ရႏၶယံု။


၂၄၆-၂၄၇။ ေလာက၌ အၾကင္သူသည္ သူ႔အသက္ကို သတ္၏၊ မဟုတ္မမွန္ေသာ စကားကိုလည္း ေျပာဆို၏၊ ပိုင္႐ွင္မေပးေသာ သူ႔ဥစၥာကို ခိုးယူ၏၊ သူတစ္ပါး သားမယားကိုလည္း သြားလာ၏၊ ေသရည္ေသရက္ကိုလည္း ေသာက္စား၏၊ ထိုသူသည္ ဤဘ၀၌ပင္လွ်င္ မိမိ၏ မူလရင္း အေျခအျမစ္ကို တူးၿဖိဳဖ်က္ဆီးသည္ မည္၏။

၂၄၈။ အိုေယာက်္ား ကိုယ္စသည္ကိုေစာင့္စည္းမႈ ကင္းေ၀းသူတို႔သည္ ယုတ္ညံ့ေသာသေဘာ ႐ွိကုန္၏ဟု သိေလ ေလာ့၊ ေလာဘသည္ လည္းေကာင္း ေဒါသသည္ လည္းေကာင္း သင့္ကို ၾကာျမင့္စြာ ဆင္းရဲေစရန္ မျပဳလုပ္ပါေစလင့္။

246-247. Whoever in this world destroys life, speaks untruth, takes what is not given, and goes to another's wife, and gets drunk with intoxicants, digs up his own root right here in this world (leads to his own destruction).

248. O man! Know this; that the lack of self-control means wrongdoing. Do not let greed and wrongdoing oppress you into prolonged suffering.

  ma tam lobho adhammo ca,
  ciram dukkhaya randhayum.

၂၄၉။ လူအေပါင္းသည္ တစ္စံုတစ္ေယာက္အား ယံုၾကည္သည့္အေလ်ာက္ ၾကည္ညိဳသည့္အေလ်ာက္ ေပးကမ္း လွဴဒါန္း၏၊ စားဖြယ္ေသာက္ဖြယ္စသည္ကို သူတစ္ပါးတို႔ ေပးလွဴရာ၌ မ်က္ႏွာမသာသူသည္ ေန႔အခါ၌ လည္းေကာင္း၊ ညဥ့္အခါ၌ လည္းေကာင္း စိတ္၏ တည္ၾကည္မႈကိုမရ။

၂၅၀။ အၾကင္သူသည္ ဤမ်က္ႏွာမသာမႈသေဘာကို အၾကြင္းမဲ့ျဖတ္၏။ အျမစ္ျပတ္ ပယ္ႏုတ္ျပီးျဖစ္၏၊ ထိုသူသည္ ေန႔အခါ၌လည္းေကာင္း၊ ညဥ့္အခါ၌လည္းေကာင္း စိတ္၏တည္ၾကည္မႈကို ဧကန္ရ၏။

249. People make donations according to their faith: if one's thoughts are disturbed by what has given out to others, that person may not attain concentration by day and by night.

၂၅၁။ ရာဂႏွင့္တူေသာ မီးသည္မ႐ွိ၊ ေဒါသႏွင့္တူေသာ ဖမ္းယူတတ္ေသာ သတၱ၀ါသည္မ႐ွိ၊ ေမာဟႏွင့္တူေသာ ပိုက္ကြန္သည္မ႐ွိ၊ တဏွာႏွင့္တူေသာ ျမစ္သည္မ႐ွိ။

251. There is no fire like passion, no captor like anger, there is no net like illusion and there is no river like craving.

၂၅၂။ သူတစ္ပါးတို႔၏အျပစ္ကို ျမင္လြယ္၏၊ မိမိ၏အျပစ္ကိုကား ျမင္ႏုိင္ခဲ၏၊ ထိုသူသည္ ဖြဲကိုလႊင့္သကဲ့သို႔ သူ တစ္ပါးတို႔၏ အျပစ္ကိုလႊင့္၏ စဥ္းလဲေကာက္က်စ္ေသာ ငွက္မုဆိုးသည္ ကိုယ္ကို သစ္႐ြက္စသည္ျဖင့္ ဖံုးလြမ္း သကဲ့သို႔ မိမိ၏ အျပစ္ကိုမူကား ဖံုးလႊမ္း၏။

252. It is easy to see the fault of others, but one's own is hard to see. One shows the faults of others like chaff winnowed in the wind, but one conceals one's own faults as a cunning bird hunter who hides under the leaves.

အာသ၀ါ တႆ ၀ၯုႏၲိ၊ အာရာ ေသာ အာသ၀ကၡယာ။


၂၅၃။ သူတစ္ပါး၏ အျပစ္ကို အစဥ္႐ႈလွ်က္ အျမဲမျပတ္ ကဲ့ရဲ့တတ္သူအား အာသေ၀ါတရားတို႔သည္ တိုးပြားကုန္၏၊ ထုိသူသည္ အာသေ၀ါကုန္ျခင္းမွ ေ၀းကြာ၏။

253. One who sees the faults of others is always ready to blame. This makes him increase of compulsions (Arthawal taya). Such one is far from extinction of compulsion.

ပပဥၥာဘိရတာ ပဇာ၊ နိပၸပဥၥာ တထာဂတာ။

၂၅၄။ ေကာင္းကင္၌ ေျခရာမ႐ွိ၊ သာသနာ့ျပင္ပ၌ မဂ္ရ ဖိုလ္ရ ရဟန္းမ႐ွိ၊ သတၱ၀ါတို႔သည္ သံသရာခ်ဲ႕ထြင္တတ္ေသာ တဏွာ မာန ဒိ႒ိ တရား၌ ေမြ႔ေလ်ာ္ကုန္၏၊ ဘုရား႐ွင္တို႔သည္ သံသရာ ခ်ဲ႕ထြင္တတ္ေသာတရားမွ ကင္းကုန္၏။

၂၅၅။ ေကာင္းကင္၌ ေျခရာမ႐ွိ၊ သာသနာ့ျပင္ပ၌ မဂ္ရဖိုလ္ရ ရဟန္းမ႐ွိ၊ ျမဲကုန္ေသာသခၤါရ တရားတို႔သည္ မ႐ွိကုန္။ ဘုရား႐ွင္တို႔အား တုန္လႈပ္ျခင္းမ႐ွိ။

254. There is no footstep in the sky; no true monk is found outside the Buddhist Order (in Buddha's Theravada Thar tha nar), the world delights in pleasures, Buddhas have overcome from such pleasures.
